Categories and Entry Criteria

Our inaugural 2024 awards seek to recognise achievements at all levels, and we are delighted to welcome nominations from all suppliers working across our frameworks.

The awards will be judged primarily on the achievements of the last 12 months, but evidence of long-term success will also be considered alongside this.

Deadline for all entries will be midday on Tuesday 28th May 2024.

The 11 categories are as follows:

Best Product/Services Innovation

This category will recognise new innovation across the CPC supply chain. Your submission will demonstrate the creation of an innovative product or service which has impacted the supply chain and wider education sector and CPC member community within the past two years.

The product can range from education, technology, health and entertainment or wider offering which has supported the advancement of education or procurement function from any sector.

Best Commitment to Carbon Reduction & Sustainability

This category recognises the best commitment to carbon reduction & sustainability where organisations have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and impact in reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enhancing their environmental sustainability.

Sustainable procurement practices are those that minimise the negative environmental, social, and economic impacts of the procurement process whilst maximising on the positive benefits.

Young Procurement Professional of the Year

This category will recognise a young procurement professional aged 30 years or younger, and will celebrate their achievements, contributions and their potential as a procurement leader who drives innovation, value and excellence in their organisation and the procurement profession.

Best New Supplier

This category will recognise most innovative, reliable, and valuable suppliers that has started working with Crescent Purchasing Consortium in the past year or any suppliers who are on frameworks which have been launched/renewed in the last year?

The category will celebrate the supplier that has demonstrated excellence in delivering quality products or services, meeting, or exceeding expectations, and adding value to the business and its stakeholders.

Best Small Supplier (up to 100 employees)

This category (up to 100 employees) recognises the most outstanding supplier that is a small size organisation but has had a significant impact for its stakeholders.

This award celebrates the supplier that has demonstrated excellence in delivering quality products or services, meeting, or exceeding expectations, and adding value to the business and its stakeholders.

Best Medium Supplier (up to 500 employees)

This category (up to 500 employees) recognises the most outstanding supplier that is a medium size organisation. This category celebrates the supplier that has demonstrated excellence in delivering quality products or services, meeting, or exceeding expectations, and adding value to the business and its stakeholders.

Best Large Supplier (500 to 15,000 employees)

This category (500 to 15,000 employees) recognises the most outstanding supplier that is a large size organisation. It will celebrate the supplier that has demonstrated excellence in delivering quality products or services, meeting, or exceeding expectations, and adding value to the business and its stakeholders.

Best Supplier Collaboration

This category recognises successful collaboration projects between the supplier and CPC members. You will demonstrate how the project was successfully implemented, such as a sourcing project or business process improvement initiative, working collaboratively with CPC members internal teams or departments.

Best Innovation

This category that recognises the most creative, original, and impactful procurement projects that have delivered significant value, impact and innovation for our members and wider stakeholders.

This category rewards suppliers who have implemented successful projects, such as a sourcing project, a digital transformation project, a sustainability project, or a supplier innovation project, using innovative and best practice approaches, methods, and tools.

Best CPC Member Customer Service

This category recognises the excellence and achievements of suppliers in delivering quality products or services, meeting, or exceeding expectations, and adding value for our members and wider stakeholders.

This category rewards suppliers who have successfully implemented effective strategies, policies, and tools to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.

Best Social Impact

The ‘Social Value Act’ 2012 requires all public authorities to have regard to economic, social and environmental well-being in connection with public services contracts and for connected purposes. Social value refers to the life-changing effects that business actions have on people, the community and wider society.

Social value being embedded in all procurement practices provides our members with the peace of mind when buying, that they will receive an overall positive impact on the community it serves. Social value looks beyond the financial cost of a contract and considers how the services, users commission and procure, might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of their area.
